Dear Crestview Families,

I hope you are enjoying the last weeks of summer. As we prepare for the start of the school year at Crestview Public School, I would like to share some important updates regarding our ongoing construction project.

  • Main Entrance: The main door has been relocated near the back of the parking lot.
  • Parking: Families are asked not to park in the parking lot, as spaces are currently being used for staff, construction areas, and workers’ vehicles.
    Accessibility & Visitor Parking: The accessible parking space has been moved closer to the new main entrance. In addition, there will be one visitor parking spot available.
  • Inside the School: The inside of the school also looks different while construction is underway. Students may notice some changes in hallways and classrooms, but everything is safe and ready for learning.
  • Ventilation Upgrades: Over the summer, the Board replaced all of the old ventilation systems. This means our school now has improved heating for the winter and, once spring arrives, we will also have better cold air circulation and exchange, ensuring a more comfortable and healthy learning environment.
  • School Sign / Website: With construction, it will be a while before we can dig out the letters on the school sign. If you haven’t already, please subscribe to our school website for updates, as we will be posting all important information there.
  • First Day of School: Tuesday, September 2nd, is a PD Day for staff. We look forward to welcoming students on Wednesday, September 3rd. Teachers will be outside holding signs so that families can easily find them. Class placements will be available through School Day at some point on Tuesday, September 2nd.

We are excited about the improvements this project will bring to Crestview, and we appreciate your patience as we navigate these temporary changes.

Please also note that due to construction, our Meet the Teacher Night date is still being finalized. It may be held on Thursday, September 4th, 11th, or 18th. We will confirm the date as soon as possible.

Finally, a reminder that our School Council is always looking for new members. Look for more information at Meet the Teacher night. In addition, if you are shopping at Mabel’s Labels or Factory Shoe, our school can receive a small percentage of sales through their fundraising programs.

We look forward to welcoming all our families and students back soon, and can’t wait to start another wonderful school year together at Crestview Public School.
